Neutral network deployments are gaining ground in the country as a way to make networks more efficient and reduce investments for those actors who want to offer services over fiber without facing the costs of laying. The inclination for this type of network occurs both at the level of large companies –Telefónica in its sharing agreement with Sion, DirecTv on the deployment of Metrotel and Claro with a passive model in the hands of American Tower-; as in the scale of medium and small ISPs, many of them wireless, that cannot afford to invest in fiber.
