WOM has invested US$800 million in Colombia and is focused on gaining scale in the mobile market

The operator started commercial operations a year and seven months ago. Since then, it has developed a 100% 4G network and deployed 4,500 antennas. In dialogue with Convergencialatina, its CEO, Ramiro Lafarga, spoke about the challenges in regulatory terms, the perspective with the dominance of Claro and the recent merger with Avantel.

WOM Colombia recently surpassed two million mobile users in Colombia, with more than 4,500 installed antennas and a network that covers more than 46 million people. Since the start of its operations in 2021, it has opened more than 460 stores and kiosks in Colombian territory, generating 2,700 direct jobs and 4,000 indirect jobs. This year it renewed authorities, and Ramiro Lafarga, who came from Entel Peru, leads the company.
