Hondutel's future is increasingly bleak

In the first four months of 2025, it recorded a loss of US$2.5 million, adding to its losses throughout 2024. It is also losing landline customers and domestic and international call traffic. Its market presence in fixed broadband has not improved.

The Honduran Telecommunications Company (Hondutel), the state-owned operator, is facing recurring economic and financial problems that threaten its survival.
