GEO, LEO and MEO: the “elephant in the room” is interoperability

The possibility that businesses in the three orbits "live happily together" was one of the recurring themes in the debates of the Latin American Satellite Congress 2022, in Rio de Janeiro. On the first day, held yesterday at the Windsor Marapendi hotel, Javier Recio, CCO of Spacebridge, ruled out that five new constellations in LEO could survive: “only two out of three could. The financial sustainability of these fleets remains to be seen. And the elephant in the room is interoperability,” he warned.
