AI exposes telcos to multiple fronts. In a sort of multi-step menu, the first step is to overcome the wave of impacts that will affect networks, due to the use of Generative AI (GenAI) by end customers. In the second instance, telcos are striving to apply AI-based processes for their internal operations, in order to automate the network, but in line with a general economic trend of not being left out of the synergies and task reductions associated with new tools. At the end of the menu is the formation of a product offering and even the idea of transforming into AI companies. The whirlwind caused by GenAI seems to have made the previous slogan of a transition from "telco" to "techco" outdated.
